This training is for you!
Creative Facilitation 1 is for those who work with groups of youth or adults, as well as for people who simply want to enhance their own creativity. Whether you are new to facilitation or have years of experience, at this training you will experience the power of the Creative Empowerment facilitation firsthand.
Working with groups is by definition a creative adventure and the arts can be your greatest ally. In this professional development training you will gain a framework for using arts-based practices to strengthen your effectiveness as a facilitator.
You will gain a toolbox of easy-to-lead activities designed to bring confidence and creativity to your role as a facilitator for groups of all sizes, as well as a strong sense of what it feels like to have the arts as an ally as you design and lead transformative learning events.
PYE is a Washington State Approved Clock Hour Provider – WA state educators can earn 12 clock hours for partipation in this training.
Fees and Scholarship
Sliding Scale – $250/375/500 USD
Partners for Youth Empowerment employs a sliding scale as a tool to promote economic justice and provide access to all. We invite you to self select your registration fee using our Sliding Scale as a guide. Based on where you fall on the sliding scale, you are welcome to choose the rate that works best for you. Scholarship & Grants
If you need additional financial support in order to participate due to your personal situation or to the inequalities of the exchange rate to the US dollar, submit an application to our Scholarship Program. If you apply for a scholarship, you will be contacted when a space becomes available. Please note that we may not be able to get you into the training date of your choice.
Shauna O’briainLondon, England, United Kingdom
A poet, a published author, a promotor and a workshop facilitator with a multidisciplinary arts practice, Shauna has 20 years experience working with young people in a variety of settings from STC’s, PRU’s, schools, youth clubs, universities and theatres. She is trained using Solution Focused Brief Therapy with a trauma informed strength based practise. She designs and delivers coaching programs to facilitators as well as team building and writing workshops for Adults. Shauna is passionate about the power in each person, values and enjoys her work and loves going on a creative journey with a group or individuals.
Stephanie TurnerLondon, UK
Stephanie is an interdisciplinary artist, performer and Creative Empowerment facilitator. She has over 10 years experience facilitating in a variety of settings in London, across the UK and internationally. The focus of her work is on youth engagement particularly with minority groups. She is currently project coordinator for Amy’s Yard at the Amy Winehouse Foundation, where she supports 16 emerging artists through a robust program of artistic development. She recently designed and delivered “Skip to the Beat” a new 12-week program for the Young Urban Arts Foundation that targets young people suffering with an array of mental health challenges to support them to manage and improve their mental well being.
